Amanda Costa de Sousa is a director, writer & editor born and raised in Brazil. She holds an MA in Film Studies from Eötvös Loránd University, in Budapest, Hungary. After graduating with honours in 2021, her thesis short film, Guy at the Bridge, was awarded with the FIPRESCI (International Federation of Film Critics) Prize on its premiere at the 17th CineFest Miskolc International Film Festival, and it has been screened in many festivals since. She works as a freelancer editor and writer, while producing her own projects.

Since 2016, after an introductory film course, I have combined filmmaking with a full-time office job. Thanks to my background in project management and my interest in directing, I mainly worked on sets as production manager or first assistant director. Recently, my focus has shifted toward my own projects as a writer-director, intending to fully transition into this career path. Alongside this, I continue to collaborate with and support friends and crews on their projects.
